SMB Flush Mounting Socket Assembly

SMB series metal clad socket assembly, manufactured in accordance with LUL specifications and approved for Section 12 installations. The assembly is flush mounting, rated at 16 amps, 110 volts and is designed for installation on a circuit protected at source by a 16 amp DP MCB. The assembly incorporates terminals to enable supply cables of up to 6mm2 cross section to be looped-in and out.

Enclosure

The enclosure comprises of a flush mounting box and removable front plate, which are fabricated from mild steel sheet and have a white finish, which utilises low smoke powder paint, electrostatically applied and oven dried. The powder paint has been tested to comply with LUL standard 2-01001-002:A1, Fire Safety Performance of Materials. The enclosure provides protection to IP55 with the front plate gasketted. However, the overall rating of the assembly is IP44, due to the ingress rating of the 16 amp metal clad socket.

Equipment

Fitted with 4 no. SAK series terminals and 2 no. EK series earth terminals to provide a loop-in and loop-out facility for supply cables of up to 6mm2 cross section. The terminals are pre-wired to a 16 amp, 2P+E, 110 volts, IPX4, metal clad socket to BS EN 60309-2. Internal wiring utilises LUL approved LSF cable.
